About Us

Passion to support and empower you!

Every Birth Matters has been growing and developing since 2016.  We offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of parents who want to have some additional support and feel empowered with their journey of pregnancy and parenting.  We are a supportive and experienced team of practitioners ready to support you.

Our Story

Every Birth Matters began from passion that I had to share the wonderful birth preparation techniques of hypnobirthing, this led onto direct support as a doula.  Being able to be that non-medical person that was their for you and supporting your wishes was something i have learnt in personal experience to be essential in pregnancy care. So after the birth of my 4th baby EBM was born too. I have been able to work with a lot of people and now EBM is at a place where we can progress and support more women and pregnant people. EBM Now offers education and support to aspiring midwives of the future.

Founder, Doula & Educator

The birth of my children have been the most beautiful moments of my life.  I completely value and understand that the miracle of life is to bring to life into the world. When I reflect and look at my births they were all different and yes there were things I would question when I look back, although I don't torment myself over those things, I accept and embrace the experience.

I have had 5 vaginal births for my 4th and 5th baby using hypnobirthing and I had a pain free, focused and relaxed birth. Some people might not believe it, but its true, I know what pain in childbirth is like and I didn't experience this. I said that if it worked I would become a practitioner so that I can pass this wonderful technique onto other couples because birth matters to us all.  I decided that I wanted to support women to help them understand they have options, they can be in control and they can have the confidence to choose what they want for their birth as well as approach special circumstances with calm and confidence.  I used hypnobirthing with my 5th baby also, who was a whopping 12lb.

My passion for supporting in maternity care stems beyond pregnancy as I also empower and prepare new doulas and aspiring midwife.

Midwife & EBM Educator

My name is Bea. I am an NHS midwife and educator here at Every Birth Matters. I qualified as a midwife in December 2020, following studying midwifery at The University of Nottingham. I have since been working at a busy trust in Birmingham, supporting women, birthing people and families through their pregnancy, birth and early postnatal period.

My role at EBM as an educator grew from my friendship with Katy and our shared passion to support aspiring and student midwives. I have loved developing and teaching our workshops and study days, and supporting and mentoring students on their journey to midwifery. Education, support and advocacy for aspiring and student midwives is so important to me to help create a strong future for midwifery to continue to provide safe and compassionate maternity care.

I have recently returned to being a student myself, as I am now studying for a Masters in Public Health at the University of Warwick. With this, I hope to further understand and share evidence-based knowledge about the role of the midwife as a public health practitioner, reducing inequalities in health care and improving perinatal mental health.
